Virtues?

If a job’s worth doing,
It’s worth doing well,
A well-heard little truism,
That, in practice, can be hell.

A little dash of OCD,
To focus without pause,
Striving for perfection,
It’s commitment to the cause!

Staying to the bitter end,

When others have long gone.
Refusing to concede defeat,
When the foe’s war’s won.

Energise with rhetoric,
We’ll pull through, you’ll see.
Stubborn bloody-mindedness,
Is steadfast loyalty!

Impulsive generosity,

Got it, why not share it?
No caveats or hidden clause;
If there, I’d declare it.

A sparkling act of altruism
To hasten to the bar,
But Happy Hour is ending soon,
It’s clever self-PR!

Perhaps virtues are subjective,

Motive sets the scene,
Derided as a sociopath?
Heralded as a queen?

In the eye of one beholder
You’re their apple, aye a hero,
Another wouldn’t look again,
You’re nothing mate, a zero.

Erroneous delusion

Intuitive perception
To cogitate with confidence
And not feel self-deception?

Fallacy or insight?

A blessing and a curse,
Rare form of introspection,
Self-analysis by verse.
