Protocol for staff room v2

The Staff Room will be available for intercourse with visitors between 0900-1100 and 1400-1700. Staff using the room for recreational purposes at these times should be aware that noise levels may be higher than usual.

·         Please wash up your own crockery and take it with you when you leave

·         Staff are not permitted to affix items to the walls
·         Window apertures are restricted for security reasons
Note that the room temperature is controlled centrally

General Information

All staff are asked to familiarise themselves with the mandatory training course information on Bulletin Board A. This is updated fortnightly and summarised below:

·         Knot-tying for beginners: hurry as a few places still remain
·         Advanced knot-tying: good availability
·         Succession planning: fully booked (please contact training if you would like to be added to a reserve list)

HR bulletins are provided on Board B. Recent updates include short leaflets on the ‘philosophy of space and time’ and ‘temporal finitism’ and a handy FAQ on pension death benefit nomination

Contact facilities management for the loan of stationery or lengths of rope (note that a minimum of two weeks notice is required for non-standard types and thicknesses of rope)

Please remember that you are responsible for keeping the room clean, tidy and neat

The helpdesk can be contacted on extension #4 regarding damage to furniture, spillages and requests for cleaning assistance

If you find yourself harbouring intense feelings of weltschmerz, these should be directed to our external employee assistance provider

We take our responsibilities for workplace health and safety seriously. Excessive work-related stress can cause mental and physical health problems, but there are steps that you can take to prevent and reduce stress:

·         Sit on one of the seats provided, ensuring that you first undertake a dynamic risk assessment and have adjusted posture settings correctly
(User-configurable arm and back support is provided)
·         Rest your eyes for 5 minutes. You may wish to look through the window at an object outside of the Staff Room
·         Stay connected to your internal emotional experience
·         Breathe deeply
·         Develop the capacity to meet challenges with humour

Alternately, aerobic exercise is a hugely effective way to lift your mood, increase energy, sharpen focus, and relax both the mind and body. Please ensure that you keep any noise to a minimum
